Improvement of thermal efficiency in cement mortars by using synthetic feldspars

The use of white cements as a building material is widely employed due to its high whiteness and reflectance. However, materials should adopt better thermal insulation characteristics contribute for significant urban heat-islands mitigation. In this work, synthetic feldspar has been evaluated partial total replacement sand in cement mortars. Thermal, mechanical, optical properties these new mortars are characterized by conductivity, compression resistance test reflectance-colorimetry, respectively. allows obtain having ?18% improvement solar Experiment under irradiance feldspars reduce the surface heating mortar 25% transmission rear >55%. Moreover, crystallinity reduces expansion alkali-silica reactions (ASR). Improvement reflectance conductivity opens wide range applications.
